Abel will serve his first term at the Nuview Union School District starting December 2022.  Abel was born and raised in California, growing up in both Romoland and Nuevo, CA.  He attended West Valley High School, where he ran track and was in the Art club.  After graduating high school Abel had many jobs, including Cook, Dishwasher, Cashier, Solar Salesman, Best Buy Salesman, Banker, Coach, Teacher, and Auditor, and Abel’s current career is Business Broker.  Abel's hobbies include making computers and spending time with his children.

Abel attended The University of California Riverside, where he acquired his Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree.  Abel received his Masters in Education from National University.

Abel is married to Christa Chavez, a parent engagement liaison for the Romoland School District.  Abel's brother and sister attended Mountain Shadows Middle School in the 90s, and his sister is now Assistant Superintendent in Rialto, CA. 

As a board member, Abel wants to hear from the students, parents, and staff.  Abel wants every student to have the best education possible and believes every student can thrive if given the right opportunity.  Abel believes every student is unique.  He wants all students to be able to explore their passion, whether it be through Science, Math, English, Cooking, or Mechanics.  Abel's philosophy is that the more options students have, the higher their chance to succeed.  He is committed to helping Nuevo move forward.
