Volunteers

The Nuview Union School District recognizes and appreciates that volunteer assistance in schools can significantly enrich the educational program, increase supervision of students, contribute to school safety, and strengthen a school’s relationship with the community.
 

Tier I Volunteer Description:

  • Assist a school site no more than 40 hours a school year
  • Help in a classroom, office, library or at events such as Back to School Night, festivals, sports events, and dances that are held on school site grounds
  • Does NOT include Field Trips
  • Parent/ Community Member that wants to attend ESL Classes offered during the regular school day
  • School Presenter or Guest Speaker

This level does not require fingerprinting. You will be required to provide valid California Identification. Your driver’s license or identification card will be scanned through our Lobbyguard system to perform a Megan’s Law Background Check.

 

Tier II Volunteer Description:

  • Assist a school site unlimited times per year
  • Help in a classroom, Parent Center, office or at events such as Back to School Night, festivals, sports events, and dances
  • Chaperone Field Trips (must be over the age of 21)
  • Classroom Observation
  • Childcare
  • Coaching

This level does require fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice and the FBI.

 

Tier III Volunteer Description:

  • Drivers (Opportunity for significant unsupervised contact with students)

This level does require fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice and FBI. In addition, you will need a Department of Motor Vehicle check and proof of insurance and policy limits.

Listed below are the variety of volunteer opportunities available and the required paperwork that must be completed before you can engage in any volunteer activity.

New Volunteer Checklist

Tier I/ESL Volunteers:

  1. Complete the Volunteer Application Packet.
  2. Provide a copy of your government-issued ID.
  3. Provide proof of TB Test clearance (done within the last 60 days). This test will be valid for four (4) years.
  4. You will receive a notification of approval and will then have a picture taken at the District Office for your volunteer badge.
  5. Once you have received your badge, your volunteer service may begin.

 

Tier II Volunteers:

  1. Complete the Volunteer Application Packet.
  2. Provide a copy of your government-issued ID.
  3. Provide proof of TB Test clearance (done within the last 60 days). This test will be valid for four (4) years.
  4. Submit proof of Live Scan (Fingerprints) completion. You must go to SOS Postal in Perris.
  5. You will receive a notification of approval and will then have a picture taken at the District Office for your volunteer badge.
  6. Once you have received your badge, your volunteer service may begin.

 

Tier III Volunteers:

  1. Complete the Volunteer Application Packet.
  2. Provide a copy of your government-issued ID.
  3. Provide proof of TB Test clearance (done within the last 60 days). This test will be valid for four (4) years.

Returning Volunteer Checklist
